Savings goals
Create a savings goal linked to an account, set a target and a date, and see how much to put aside each month to get there on time.
A goal in Fince follows the balance of one account: a holiday, a new laptop, a safety cushion. You see how far you are, and, with a date, how much to set aside each month.
If you don’t have one yet, create an account for your savings: on the Dashboard, under Accounts, tap See all, then +, and choose the type Savings. See Accounts and transfers.
Back on the Dashboard, tap Goals (in the row with Forecast and Debts).
Tap + at the top right.
In New Goal, type the Goal name (for example “Holiday”) and the Target. Under Account, Fince suggests your savings account; choose another if you like. Pick an icon.
To aim for a date, turn on Deadline and set the date next to By.
Tap Save.
How progress works
A goal’s progress is the balance of its account: the opening balance plus everything booked on that account. To move closer to the target, move money into the account with a transfer from your everyday account.
Each goal shows its percentage, what is saved out of the target (for example “€300 of €1,200”) and, once the target is reached, Reached.
The amount per month
With a deadline, each goal also shows how much to put aside each month. It is what is still missing, divided by the months left until the date.
Example: a €1,200 target, €300 already saved and 6 months to go. €900 is missing, so the goal shows €150 / month. If one month you save more, the amount for the following months goes down.
Editing, archiving and deleting
- Tap a goal to change its name, target, account, icon or date.
- Swipe left on a goal to Archive it (it leaves the list) or Delete it. Neither touches the account or the money in it.
Give each goal its own account. Two goals linked to the same account would both show that account’s full balance.
