Face ID lock and privacy mode

Lock Fince with Face ID and hide every amount with one tap. How the lock works, what privacy mode hides, and where your data stays.

Your budget is nobody else’s business. Fince can ask for Face ID before it opens, and hide every amount on screen when someone is looking over your shoulder.

1. On the Dashboard, tap the gear at the top right to open Settings.

2. Under Privacy, turn on Face ID lock, then tap Done.

3. The next time you open Fince, it asks for Face ID. If Face ID doesn’t recognise you, your iPhone passcode works too. If you cancel, tap Unlock to try again.

4. To hide amounts, tap the eye button at the top right of the Dashboard. Every amount becomes ••••. Tap the eye again to show them.

When the lock asks

• Each time you open Fince.
• When you come back after more than a minute in another app.

You can also turn the lock on during the first launch (Lock with Face ID). On an iPhone with Touch ID, the lock uses Touch ID.

What privacy mode hides

Privacy mode replaces amounts everywhere in the app: the balance, transactions, budgets, accounts, goals, the forecast and the calendar. The widgets hide them too, from the next time you leave the app. It stays on until you tap the eye again, even after closing Fince.

The same switch is in Settings, under Privacy: Hide amounts. Handy on the bus, in a meeting or when sharing your screen.

Where your data stays

• Your data is stored on your iPhone, encrypted with your passcode. There is no Fince account to create and no bank login.
• Fince has no analytics and no advertising SDK, and your data is never sold.
• iCloud sync is optional and uses your own private iCloud: Fince has no server copy and cannot read it. See iCloud sync and backups.
• Only the AI chat, and weekly insights that can’t run on your iPhone, send a summary of your spending. See AI insights and chat.
